Was an italian painter and mathematician who is particularly well-known for his fresco paintings, although he was also a master of perspective and Euclidean geometry and from 1470 onwards he relinquished his painting to concentrate on these subjects.
He trained under Veneziano and his work comes under the banner of the "Florentine School". He worked throughout the Tuscany and Le Marche regions of Italy and in particular the towns of Arezzo, Urbino, Milan, Monterchi and Rimini, but examples of his work can be found in major museums around the would including the Louvre, Paris , London's National Gallery and the Uffizi in Florence. He went blind sometime between 1487 and his death in 1492. His two publications are: On Perspective in Painting ("De Perspetiva Pingendi") and On the Five Regular Bodies ("De Quinque Corporibus Regularibus).
